An analysis of sectoral shipbuilding strategies considering the sustainable development goals of the fisheries complex of Russia

Subject. This article discusses the prospects for the strategic development of shipbuilding of the fishing fleet of Russia, and its impact on the fisheries industry.
Objectives. The article aims to identify the existing resource constraints and strategic opportunities of shipbuilding of the fishing fleet of Russia, taking into account global trends, and conduct a comprehensive analysis and systematization of the sectoral strategies and develop recommendations for their updating.
Methods. For the study, I used the methods of logical analysis, synthesis, comparison, aggregation by specific feature, and systematization.
Results. The article offers a model of expert assessment of the optimal number of fishing fleet, taking into account the segmentation of the object of strategizing and determination of strategic priorities for the development of the fisheries industry of Russia.
Conclusions. In Russia, shipbuilding of the fishing fleet is a catalyst for a high synergistic effect in mechanical engineering, fisheries industry, and development of coastal regions. The further sustainable development of its interrelated elements is possible through updating strategic development priorities. The article proposes to lay special emphasis on small shipbuilding that has the greatest growth potential, as a priority area for the development of the fisheries industry.
