Moral institutions in N. S. Mordvinov’s financial ideas and public activities

Modern Russian scientists rank N. S. Mordvinov among the most recognized scholars and practitioners of the formation period of the modern Russian financial science. The analysis of his great heritage, which includes some original financial ideas, shows that his theoretical contribution to the Russian financial science exceeds the importance of his practical activities. He said more then he did. The article suggests that the reason for this discrepancy should be looked for in the moral institutions of N. S. Mordvinov’s financial ideas and his social activity.
