Subject The article discusses the social and economic development of the Russian State with Moscow as the center in the second half of the 15th–17th centuries, when the unified centralized State was being strengthened.
Objectives The article aims to show the peculiarities of the medieval development of Russia, slowly entering the early modern and capital original accumulation periods.
Methods For the study, I used the problematic-chronological and statistical methods of analysis.
Results The changes occurred in the Russian State in that period of time were reflected in legal documents executed as codes of law and council codes.
Conclusions Unlike the West European countries, commodity-money relations led to consolidation and legislative registration of feudal and serfdom relations in Russia in the 15th–17th centuries.
