Subject. The set of relationships and interaction patterns among institutions and technologies used in the process of integrating finance into digital platforms.
Objectives. The study seeks to identify the essence and directions of transformation of the traditional financial system, institutions and indicators under the influence of the development of digital platforms and platform?based economy.
Methods. The research employs methods of systemic, comparative and economic?statistical analysis.
Results. The paper introduces the concept of platform?based economy and outlines its main development stages. It identifies the key directions of financial transformation and demonstrates changes in the elements of traditional business models. Additionally, the study provides a characterization of financial indicators categorized by types of digital platforms.
Conclusions and Relevance. The development of the platform?based economy is transforming the role of finance, turning it into a tool for building infrastructure and retaining customers for digital platforms. In this context, the key performance indicators are no longer the size of cash flows, but rather the volume of available data, existing algorithms, software products and the level of trust among participants in digital ecosystems. The findings can be leveraged by government bodies to improve legislation and develop digital transformation strategies, as well as to design approaches for overseeing platform?based finance. Businesses may use the results to further refine their strategies for transforming business models and adapting them to the conditions of the platform?based economy. The academic and expert community can apply the insights for research at the intersection of finance and the digital economy.
