Subject. The impact of digital money development on the economic security of a state, along with potential risks and opportunities. Objectives. The study aims to analyze the impact of digital money on a state’s economic security using the scenario analysis method. Methods. The research applies comparative analysis and formalization techniques and includes two types of testing: stress testing and backtesting. The information base comprises data from the Bank of Russia, international financial organizations, and analytical reviews from recent years. Results. The findings indicate that the success of implementing the digital ruble depends on a range of factors, including a well?designed monetary policy, the level of public trust, regulatory measures, and the country’s technological readiness. The main challenges remain centered on issues of financial stability, capital controls, and ensuring the security of transactions. Conclusions and Relevance. It is most likely that the digital ruble will be able to coexist with traditional forms of money, and monetary policy will adjust without causing significant shocks. The results are intended to support the Bank of Russia’s projects for the roll-out of digital money, as well as to inform the development of new products and services linked to the digital ruble and to guide further research in the field of digital finance.
