Subject. Communications used by central banks in the EAEU countries when implementing monetary policy, as well as measures to improve it.
Objectives. The study seeks to reveal the prerequisites and development trends of communication channels and methods employed by central banks in the EAEU countries, identify regulatory measures aimed at improving communication practices, and assess the readability of statements on policy rates.
Methods. The research applies general scientific methods of inquiry, including comparison and generalization, as well as analytical techniques and the coefficient method. The information base comprises regulatory legal acts, official publications of central banks in the EAEU countries, and academic publications by foreign and Russian authors.
Results. The study reveals the prerequisites for changes and identifies the main trends in the development of communication policies of central banks in the EAEU countries over the period 1992–2025. Based on calculations using the Flesch–Kincaid, Coleman–Liau, and Evstigneeva–Sidorovsky readability indices, it is demonstrated that statements issued by central banks are highly complex, requiring post?university education for proper comprehension. The analysis further shows that EAEU countries that have adopted inflation targeting tend to have a broader range of communication channels and methods, as well as more comprehensible policy rate announcements.
Conclusions. Since 2015, central banks across all EAEU countries have made considerable progress in enhancing the quality of their communication by segmenting information for different user groups. However, the readability of the information they provide remains rather low, with text complexity on the rise. Given the need to coordinate monetary policies within the alliance, it is essential to develop unified approaches to disclosing such information.
