Subject. The article addresses the telecommunications industry, methods for forecasting the economic performance of telecommunications companies.
Objectives. The study aims at a detailed analysis of development of telecommunications companies, evaluation of approaches, forecasting methods, and devising scenarios.
Methods. The study rests on data from final reports of leading traders, examines articles and works of Russian authors on prospects for communications enterprise development, materials of executive authorities, information from the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation. It employs such methods as observation, comparison, generalization, systematization, and grouping of data, systems and structural analysis, statistical, graphical, economic and mathematical methods.
Results. We analyzed existing approaches, the condition of the telecommunications market and its development prospects, devised our own methodological tools for forecasting the main economic indicators. The findings will be useful for the telecommunications industry providers in assessing their development. The results of the study can become a basis for further research in the field of economics of the telecommunications resources industry.
Conclusions. The study offers methodological provisions on the management of quality indicators, characterizing the services of telecommunications companies in the regional market. Development forecasts will enable telecommunication services providers to take a more competitive position and reduce economic losses.
