Subject. The article deals with the introduction of digital tools aimed at improving the management processes in medical institutions.
Objectives. The purpose of this study is to develop a methodological basis to improve management processes in medical institutions in the context of digitalization.
Methods. The article rests on the systems approach, comparative analysis of centralized, decentralized, and mixed management models, statistical analysis methods, a study of experience in implementing digital solutions in Russian medical institutions, and assessment of economic efficiency of management process digitalization.
Results. The paper revealed that integration of digital solutions into management processes helps increase labor productivity, reduce costs of medical institutions, and improve service quality. Some digital tools can reduce the number of diagnostic errors and increase labor productivity in the first years after their implementation. To assess the results of business process digitalization in medical institutions, it is proposed to evaluate such indicators as ROI, cost savings, labor productivity growth, error reduction rate in diagnosis or treatment prescription.
Conclusions. Despite the positive experience in digitalization, modern technologies are introduced in a fragmented way, the approach to integrated use of innovations in the activities of medical institutions is not implemented. This is due to several factors, i.e. budget constraints, insufficient level of competence of company management in the field of business process digitalization, technological barriers, and digital immaturity of organizations themselves, and other individual characteristics of each institution.
