Subject. This article deals with the issues of development of digital ecosystems by banks.
Objectives. The article aims to identify the motives for the formation of banking digital ecosystems and determine regional differences and prospects for their development.
Methods. For the study, I used a content analysis, generalization, and the logical and comparative approaches.
Results. The article defines the motives for creating banking ecosystems and formulates prospects for their further development in the Russian market.
Relevance. The results obtained can be used by large banks, including the Bank of Russia, as well as by legislative bodies in the development of a regulatory framework governing the formation of banking digital ecosystems.
