Subject. The importance of the research is determined by trends existing in modern science towards the synthesis of knowledge obtained within the framework of individual scientific disciplines, the need to modernize traditional methodological foundations of economic science.
Objectives. The purpose of the study is to assess prospects for the application of interdisciplinary methods in economic research.
Methods. We employ methods of comparative analysis, the historical method, method of observation and generalization.
Results. We unveiled the criteria of methodological consistency of interdisciplinary economic research, underpinned the necessity of interdisciplinary synthesis for effective solutions to modern research problems of economics.
Conclusions and Relevance. The developed recommendations on the application of interdisciplinary methodology enable to set and address problems of theoretical and applied economics more correctly.
