Subject In the current competitive environment, credit institutions of the banking industry seek to take leadership through using project management techniques and methods to introduce new products and technologies, and to implement the standards and guidelines of the Bank of Russia. The project office is a tool of project management that facilitates efficient application of these methods and techniques. Nowadays, it becomes increasingly relevant.
Objectives The aim of the study is to develop methodological recommendations for project office organization in a commercial bank.
Methods The study employs qualitative methods of comparative analysis to review various ways of project office organization in a credit institution, to define the most efficient models and the structure of project office in a bank.
Results We developed methods, requirements and recommendations for arranging efficient management of banking projects using the project office tool. The findings may be useful to underpin and take management decisions.
Conclusion The offered measures may be helpful for prompt organization of project office in a bank, which will eventually enable the credit institution to achieve a higher level of project activities and reap particular economic benefits.
