The article presents the data characterizing use by several states single (national and collective) currencies in the modern world. The author reveals the interrelation between character of economy (strong and weak) and character of currency (strong and weak). The paper discloses the prospects of creation of a zone of single currency in EurAsEC with participation of Russia.
