Low level of competition in the banking sector is a threat to its effective functioning as a major source of financing the real economy. In the article specificity of interbank competition is defined, the criteria for its evaluation are offered. The competition analysis on the example of a banking system of the Republic of Armenia is made; coefficients of market concentration are calculated.
