In the article the prospects of uniform European currency are investigated, the situation in the European currency market is analyzed. The strategic component of revival of the European economy, connected with development of the market of euro is considered. The conclusion is drawn that in process of entry of the new states into the euro-zone the majority of the countries with a transitional economy refuse dollar orientation in favor of implementation of contracts and calculations in euro.
