In the article it is noted that in connection with growth of dependence of development of the banking sector of the Russian economy from population deposits studying of questions of deposit activity gains special relevance. Separate aspects of deposition are considered, the definition of this process is given, its basic principles and stages are defined. The attention to need of theoretical development of process of deposition and to existing difficulties of the analysis of the banking deposit practice is paid.
