Vreden E.R.: contribution to development of the Russian financial science

In the article the basic biographical facts and scientific works of E. R. Vreden (1836-1891), Russian economist XIX century are considered. The contribution to the development of financial science is presented. The analysis of his work "Financial credit", which is defined the features as non-profit of the social economy, the lack of market competition, the existence of funding from the private enterprise. The result of the functioning of public services is public good properties that are free and publicly available.
