The impact of financial crisis on the insurance market in Russia is considered in the article. On the basis of statistical data of the Federal service of insurance supervision the complex the analysis of influence of the world financial crisis on the insurance market of the Russian Federation is carried out. The main indicators of insurance activity that allowed to carry out the analysis of an environment of the studied market are calculated, to put forward scenarios of its further development.
