In the article it is noted that in connection with increase in demand for nonconventional bank services steady value of Islamic banking grows. Genesis of Islamic finance and banking is given. Their main advantages before the traditional organization of finance and bank activity are considered. Modern problems and influence of world financial crisis on Islamic finance are analyzed. The prospects of development and expansion of Islamic banks in the world and in Russia are investigated.
