The article is devoted to research of essence of the bank competition and competitiveness. The review of theoretical views of essence of the competition is carried out. The structural organization of the bank market as the specific sphere of the bank competition is studied. Author's classification of types of the bank competition is offered. On the basis of the carried-out research the essence and specifics of the bank competition and bank competitiveness are specified.
