The paper analyzes the principles and objectives of modern government fiscal policy of Great Britain, examines the main instruments of its implementation, showing an impact on the financial policies of national peculiarities of economic development, the stage of the economic cycle, the policies of the political parties in power. It describes the structure of income and expenditures of the UK state budget, defines perspective directions of optimization in accordance with the priorities of government financial policy.
