The article considers strategic approaches for effective utilization of the financial mechanism to ensure the economic growth of the city of Moscow. Strategic planning for the investment of resources will produce a comprehensive and reliable assessment of potential investment capital, establish an effective financial control over the results of social reproduction and thus create the preconditions for investment in breakthrough innovation basis.
