Transnational Business of Russian Banks

In the article the patterns and peculiarities of transnational expansion of Russian banks are examined, into UIS members in particular, where the strategic interests of Russia and Russian business are concentrated. The author considers the national level of banking capital concentration to be the impetus to this expansion. The expansion of Russian banks into UIS members contributes to regional integration, competitiveness of Russian economy, formation of the regional international financial center in Russia. To authors` opinion the VTB can be classified as a transnational bank. It has fourteen subsidiaries abroad in different parts of the world, creating integrated international banking holding.
