Mergers and acquisitions are considered to be comparatively modern processes for the Russian economy. Moreover, banking sector of Russia is supposed to be consolidated as one of the way to retain banks’ positions on the market. Therefore, in terms of planned restructuring of the banking sector value assessment of a bank participating in a merger and acquisition deals increase its importance. The article is devoted to analysis of main approaches to value assessment of a bank participating in a merger and acquisition deal and circumstances for their implementing in practice.
