The article covers the reasons and the consequences of the present economic crisis in Russia. It reveals the features of the financial crisis. The author studies the historical experience of the antirecession policy by the example of the USA. Different theoretical approaches on stabilization of both the Russian economy as a whole and the financial sector, as well as practical ways to overcome the crisis are analyzed.
