The role of N.V. Gogol in the national financial ideas

In this article the author is trying to prove the possibility of usage of the works by N.V. Gogol as a scientific source in the contemporary financial studies. As a result of the research performed it has been proved that N.V. Gogol had every reason to describe the financial problems of his time, being disclosed in his compositions and letters, professionally, scientifically, informatively, and at the same time artistically, from the financial point of view.
