The article challenges the independence of ideas and stipulations of the neoclassical theory. It offers an original concept of functioning of the national economy. In essence it means that the consumers’ behavior defines the existence of economic cycles. It considers the model of cyclic development of economy. It also substantiates the relation between economic growth and the range of individuals’ needs.
