Housing and financial industry in today’s Russia is following a hard and contradictory line, still aggravated by the world financial turmoil. That is why a new mechanism of the national project implementation is needed that will include the solution of the problem of relations between the total income level and the opportunity to invest it to housing. The study of the factors leading to the financial crisis in the West will enable to regard the current state of the building complex under another aspect. If understood, the current property situation and factors influencing on the building market will enable the state to take timely steps averting negative consequences of the following foreseeable crisis cycle at the international financial markets.
