Subject This article discusses the peculiarities of administrative regulation of turnover of agricultural lands in the Russian Federation and legal relations between owners of land plots and administrative bodies.
Objectives The article aims to investigate the main problems of regulation of agricultural land turnover and assess the activity of administrative bodies in terms of investment prospects of abandoned land recirculation.
Methods For the study, I used the method of comparative analysis of the materials of Arbitration court sessions, supplemented by expert interviews.
Results The article shows the volumes of agricultural land retirement and describes the main reasons for this process. It suggests a more active participation of the executive authorities in rationalizing the use of agricultural land.
Conclusions The article stresses the necessary to update the land legislation, increase the role and responsibility of the executive authorities for the state and rational use of land resources of Russia. The conclusions drawn can be used to improve the current activities of the federal and regional authorities.
