The infant mortality ratio as an indicator of a region demographic safety is the subject of the present research work. This ratio defines the reproductive potential and the quality of medical support for the population of the Russian Federation. The applied multidimensional analysis enabled to construct a multiple regression model, to cluster the regions of the Russian Federation, to carry out the correlation, componential, variance and factorial analyses to evaluate the quality of the constructed models. The research work determines the infant death rate and dynamics, and submits a comprehensive health-activities plan to reduce the mortality.

Keywords: infant mortality, demographic safety, regression model, correlation analysis, cluster, componential analysis, region
