The article is devoted to research of a state and development of the meat industry of agro-industrial complex in the modern economic conditions. The main indicators of production of meat and meat products in Russia as a whole and in the Arkhangelsk region are considered. The complex analysis of volumes and structure of production by years is carried out. Attention is paid to the system of financing the sector. The main problems of this sphere are revealed and the ways of their decision are defined
