In the article it is noted that the crisis situations in economy actualize a problem of regulation of development of municipalities. For this purpose it is necessary to allocate the priorities in the development directions. It is possible to make such decisions on the basis of information on an assessment of efficiency of development. Two methodical approaches to a similar assessment are offered: on the basis of reference of settlements to various levels of development and on the basis of an assessment of a social risk protection as criterion of efficiency.
