In the article the control system of technological innovations in the advanced industrial Russian region - the Republic of Tatarstan is analyzed. The classification of the industrial regions of the Volga federal district is carried out, industrially developed and lagging behind its regions are defined. The problems in sources of financing of technological innovations are revealed. The recommendations on modernization of the industry of the region are made.
