In the article economical and social aspects of effective development of beekeeping in the conditions of the Nizhny Novgorod Region are considered. Loss of continuity and decrease in interest to this segment of agricultural production from youth can lead to its degradation. The results of researches allow to define the main directions of the solution of problems of beekeeping at the present stage of development.
