In the article the ground of the use of gross municipal product is given as a summarizing index of socio-economic development of municipal educations. A design procedure of given parameter is offered and approved by authors. It is based on official statistical materials of social and economic progress of Krasnoyarsk region. The analysis of progress of municipal areas on a parameter gross municipal product is lead.
