In this article the prognostication of the regional socio-economic development as the effective tool of working out regional policy in the Russian Federation is considered. Proceeding from that each region of Russia represents rather independent and complete macroeconomic system having an opportunity to develop on various trajectories the expediency of formation of effective system of forecasting which will allow purposefully proves and is system to carry out a regional policy, clearly enough estimating and realizing its consequences.
