Subject. This article examines the internal processes in the organization and the leadership attributes.
Objectives. The article aims to study the phenomenon of leadership based on the analysis of the opinions of students of top Russian universities about the factors that form leadership skills, and compare the results obtained with leadership theory.
Methods. For the study, we used a comparative analysis and generalization.
Results. The article presents the results of a sociological survey of students, highlighting the ideas of young people regarding the important skills and attributes of a modern leader.
Conclusions. A democratic management style that contributes to the manifestation of the abilities of all team members is most acceptable for the younger generation.
