The article investigates interrelations and interconditionality of innovative policy, innovative strategy, organizational and economic mechanism of innovative activity. The authors provide evidence of the need to create and start the organizational-economic mechanism for the implementation of innovative development using statistical data on innovation activity of the federal districts and regions of Russia under the provisions of the Development Strategy of innovation in Russia till 2020.
