In modern economy everything is more noticeable competition strengthening between the countries, regions and the cities. The article uses of the results of three sociological polls which have been carried out by authors in 2007, 2010 and 2013, the assessment of development of the territorial competition in Russia and its regions is given, the priority purposes of rivalry of territories in modern economic space are revealed. The conclusion is drawn that level of the territorial competition remains insufficiently high, and the competitive coexistence of territories becomes one of important consequences of evolution of the territorial competition in the XXI century.
