In the article the historical and cultural contribution of the people Sakha in a northern civilization approximately from XIII century, in particular, in development of horse breeding and cattle breeding which throughout many centuries turned into traditional sectors of economy of indigenous people of the North is considered. The comparative analysis of their development in 1990-2012 in northern regions of Russia is carried out. It is noted that the people Sakha as numerous indigenous people continue to develop successfully traditional sectors of agriculture in severe conditions of the North, increase the contribution to development of a northern civilization.
