Reforming of Armed forces of the Russian Federation entailed liberation of a significant amount of the military personnel of able-bodied age. In the article the analysis of problems which the former military in civil life face is carried out. The questions of labor adaptation of this social group are in detail considered. The conclusion on the effectiveness of policies conducted by the State to address the problems is drawn.
