In the article the current economic and social situation of the Republic of Tatarstan is considered. On the basis of the comparative analysis with the countries of the world system problems of development of the republic are revealed. The main objectives and solutions of these problems by such directions as increase of investment appeal and improvement of conditions for business, growth of innovative activity and labor productivity increase are determined.
