In the article the main socio-economic indexes of labor market of the Nizhny Novgorod region are analyzed. Influence of an economic crisis of 2008-2009 on the market of educational services of the region is investigated. On the basis of the analysis of structure of employment at regional level problems of employment of the population and employment of graduates of higher education institutions are investigated, tendencies of development of the market of educational services are revealed. The place of non-state sector in the region is defined.
