The article analyses the relation of the definitions of export and exporting activity in the contemporary economic literature. Export is thought either as selling of the exporting production, especially the results of the exporting activity or value indices of the trade between countries. The exporting activity is a particular case of the economic activity which includes goal, means and results and accordingly corresponding stages of the process: preliminary, basic and concluding. When becoming a member of the WTO Russia will have the opportunity to make use of the exceptions of the rules at the promotion of the highly technological exporting enterprises.
