Article is devoted to the modern questions of increasing of quality in different spheres of life activities of society and first of all quality of people. Importance not only economic, but also social development of a society is defined. Concepts «level of living» and «quality of life» are considered. Necessity of development of quality of life as unique way of development of Russia and preservation of her competitiveness is proved.
