In the conditions of financial crisis in Russia special value in overcoming of its consequences is played by natural monopolies which should realize itself not only economic, but also social actors on which activity competitiveness, stability and safety of development of social and economic system depends. In the article the essence of social responsibility of natural monopoly, its contradictions and specific features in modern Russia are analyzed. The conclusion on necessity of improving of interaction of the state and natural monopolies for the decision of the major social problems is drawn.
