Degree of development of innovative business is the major indicator of competitiveness of economy of the state during a globalization epoch. In article the author's concept of an innovation and innovative activity is offered, foreign experience on development of innovative business is considered, the role of venture funds in development of innovative activity also is defined. In work major factors interfering to development of the Russian innovative business are defined.
