National forest potential: challenges of the XXI century and national priorities

National forest potential is a property of Russian Federation and its citizens. It can become a reference point of socio-economic development of Russia and it’s regions in the second decade of the 21st century and on the long-term perspective. In the context of principal external challenges of our century - «competition» - «innovation» - «humanization» and more than this the main internal challenge - leaving of raw material model of economic development, scientific and practical approaches to realization of forest potential of Russia are considered. A number of problems connected with the development of forest potential are emphasized.
