The article contains the estimation of the Voronezh oblast socio-economic situation in the first half of 2009. The basic indicators of the region economic development are resulted in comparison with similar Russian, Central federal district and Central Chernozem (Black Earth) region indicators. The special attention is paid to social problems: price fluctuations and population incomes, population underemployment (part-time work) and unemployment.
