In connection with the introduction of new Federal Law "On Accounting" No. 402 of Federal Law of 06.12.2011 orientation to IFRS in questions of independent choice of options and the methods of conducting accounting gains relevance. In the article the features of calculation of cost of products of meat cattle breeding in the international practice are revealed, the need and possibilities of adaptation of the Russian system of the account to the international principles is considered. For effective management the principles opened in the international standards regarding classification of expenses have the powerful importance.
