In the article the comparative analysis of approaches to an assessment of investment potential as national economies as a whole, and structural units making it (regions, types of economic activity) is carried out. The model of an assessment of the investment potential is offered, allowing as much as possible to coordinate available conditions and resources with plans and prospects of economic development of Russia.
